Produce Rescue – You have to read this!!

Have you ever heard of a Produce Rescue? I learned about this from a Facebook group that I belong to. I had recently seen Jamie Oliver’s campaign to save “ugly produce”. Apparently, grocery stores don’t want to sell it. So I searched on-line for “ugly produce” and didn’t see anything about it in my area. When I heard about this non-profit Produce Rescue, I was very excited to share. I can’t believe excess produce or malformed produce just goes to waste in a landfill!

I live in the southwest, so got to visit the Borderlands Produce Rescue today. The donation was $12.00 for all the fruits and vegetable that you see pictured above. They even threw in an extra case of delicata squash because they had too much. I can’t wait to look up some recipes and get cooking with my bounty!
